สกุล
Thai
Etymology
Possibly extended from กุล (gun), from Pali kula (“clan, family; caste, class”), ultimately from Sanskrit कुल (kula, “idem”), or corrupted from ตระกูล (dtrà-guun), from Old Khmer ត្រកូល (trakūla, “idem”), that believed to be an aphaeresis of Sanskrit गोत्रकुल (gotrakula, “idem”). Cognate with Lao ສະກຸນ (sa kun).
