From นอน (nɔɔn, “to lie”) +‎ คุย (kui, “to talk”) +‎ กับ (gàp, “with”) +‎ ราก (râak, “root”) +‎ มะม่วง (má-mûuang, “mango (tree, fruit)”); literally "to lie (down) talking with the root of a mango (tree)"; believed to have originated from old movies in which the bodies of murdered persons are often buried under mango trees.
