   ಅವನು ವಾ ನಾನು ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ ಹೋದೆವು.

   avanu vā nānu aṅgaḍige hōdevu.

   He or I went to the store.

This conjunction is a general "or." It can be used as an inclusive "or" or as an exclusive "or." Compare with ಇಲ್ಲವೆ (illave).

It should be noted that as in all cases in Kannada where there is disjunction in the subject, the subject still governs a plural verb. For example: "ಅವನು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವಳು ಹೋಗುವರು" ("he or she will go").
