Usage notes

  • The Konkani language distinguishes two words for fish. The first, and more common, is नुस्ते (nustè), which refers to fish eaten as food. On the other hand, मासळी (māsoḷī) refers to living fish in the water and is less common within the vocabulary of the speakers.
