Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀯𑀺𑀡𑀸 (viṇā), from Sanskrit विना (vínā). Doublet of विना (vinā). Cognate with Punjabi ਬਿਨ (bin) / بِن (bin), Mewari वना (vanā) Kachchi વિણ- (viṇa-), Marathi बिन- (bin-).
