Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘟𑘱𑘭𑘜𑘹 (disaṇe), Maharastri Prakrit 𑀤𑀺𑀲𑁆𑀲𑀇 (dissaï), 𑀤𑀻𑀲𑀇 (dīsaï), from Sanskrit दृश्यते (dṛśyáte). Cognate to Konkani दिस्चे (disce), Gujarati દીસવું (dīsvũ), Hindi दिसना (disnā), Sindhi ڏِسَڻُ / ॾिसणु (d̤isaṇu), Punjabi ਦਿਸਣਾ (disṇā) / دِسنا (disnā).
