Cognate with Konkani जळ्चे (zaḷce), Gujarati જળવું (jaḷvũ), Hindi जलना (jalnā), Punjabi ਜਲਣਾ (jalṇā) / جَلنا (jalnā), Nepali जल्नु (jalnu), Assamese জলা (zola).
