Etymology
Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘐𑘨𑘿𑘕𑘜𑘹 (garjaṇe), adapted from Sanskrit गर्जति (gárjati).[1] Doublet of गाजणे (gājṇe). Compare Gujarati ગરજવું (garajvũ), Hindustani گَرَجْنَا (garajnā) / गरजना (garajnā), Punjabi ਗਰਜਣਾ (garjaṇā) / گَرجݨا (garjṇā), Maithili गरजब (garᵊjab) / 𑒑𑒩𑒖𑒥 (garajaba).
