Cognate with Avestan 𐬎𐬑𐬱𐬁𐬥 (uxšān, “bull”), Gothic 𐌰𐌿𐌷𐍃𐌰 (auhsa), Welsh ych (“ox”), Breton oc'hen, Old English oxa (whence English ox).
