ܡܨܠܐ

From Aramaic צַלֵּא (ṣallē), intensitive stem of ܨܵܠܹܐ (ṣālē, “to go down, descend”). The usage of “to pray” is possibly a semantic loan from Akkadian; compare Arabic صَلَّى (ṣallā)
