Etymology

Inherited from Old Anatolian Turkish سوكوشاك (sügüşek/süŋüşek), سوكوشاك (sügşek/süŋşek), which is believed to derive from Proto-Turkic *süŋüĺek, a development from *süŋgü (spear); for the semantic development spearlightning, compare Latin sagitta (arrow) and the Italian descendant saetta (lightning).
