Etymology
Borrowed from Classical Persian بِهِشْت (bihišt), from Middle Persian 𐭥𐭧𐭱𐭲𐭩 (wahišt). First attested in c. 1582 as Middle Hindi بِہِشْت (bihiśt). Compare Bengali বেহেশ্ত (beheśto). Doublet of بَسِیٹھ (basīṭh).
