Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *bȫgček (insect), a diminutive of *bȫg (camel spider). Cognate with Azerbaijani böcək, Bashkir бөжәк (böjək), Crimean Tatar böcek, Kazakh бөжек (böjek) and Turkmen möjek.
