Etymology
Inherited from Proto-Turkic *edgü (“good”). Possibly related to ااذ (ēδ, “manufactured thing”).
Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰓𐰏𐰇 (edgü), Chuvash ырӑ (yră), Turkish iyi, Bashkir эйе (eye), иге (ige) and Yakut үтүө (ütüö).
