Etymology
From ӱст (üst, “upper, top”) + -ӱнде (-ünde, “suffix”), Proto-Turkic *üŕ-t (“on top, high above”). Cognate with Kazakh үстінде (üstınde), Kyrgyz үстүндө (üstündö), Azerbaijani üstündə, Turkish üstünde, Turkmen üstünde, Also Karachay-Balkar юсюнде (yusünde), Uyghur ئۈستىدە (üstide), etc.
