From кийин (kiyin, “back, after”) + -инде (-inde, “suffix”), Proto-Turkic *ged (“back, after”). Cognate with Kazakh кейінде (keiınde), Kyrgyz кийинде (kiyinde), Uzbek keyinda, Uyghur keynide, etc.
