фо́то (fóto, photo) + жа́ба (žába, toad). From a humorous modification of фотошо́п (fotošóp, photoshop) first as фотожо́п(а) (fotožóp(a), photoass), alluding to the expression че́рез жо́пу (čérez žópu, in a botchered manner), and then euphemistically as the present form.
