Etymology

From Koine Greek κανθόχοιρος (kanthókhoiros), from Ancient Greek ἀκανθόχοιρος (akanthókhoiros), from ἄκανθος (ákanthos, acanthus, a prickly plant) + χοῖρος (khoîros, pig). Doublet of ακανθόχοιρος (akanthóchoiros).
