Etymology
From Koine Greek κανθόχοιρος (kanthókhoiros), from Ancient Greek ἀκανθόχοιρος (akanthókhoiros), from ἄκανθος (ákanthos, “acanthus, a prickly plant”) + χοῖρος (khoîros, “pig”). Doublet of ακανθόχοιρος (akanthóchoiros).
