When seismic waves start to penetrate a base of building structure, seismic dampers can decrease their damaging effect and improve the building's seismic performance [1]. Some samples of seismic dampers design and implementation are presented in the images below:
- Light damping Lead-Rubber Bearing being tested at the UCSD facility.
- Tuned mass damper in Taipei 101, the world's second tallest skyscraper.
- Pyramid-shaped skyscraper to prevent buildings' resonant amplifications.
