- This ancient Greek computer was only marginally a computer because it was programmable only to the extent that it had to be "dialed" to a particular Saros cycle. But the design was so advanced that it has been called the first laptop[1][2].
- The Jacquard loom was developed in 1801. Note the wooden punch cards.
