Chapter 5: Intention of Blessings |
סימן ה: כונת הברכות |

Paragraph 1 — When reciting blessings, one should intend the meaning of the words. When reciting the Name, concentrate on the vocal meaning (Adonai) of lordship, for He is the Lord of all. One should also intend the meaning of its written form with Yud Hey, for He was, is, and will be. When reciting "Elohim," intend that He is the all-powerful Master of all possibilities and forces. |
סעיף א — יכון בברכות פרוש המלות. כשיזכיר השם יכון פרוש קריאתו באדנות שהוא אדון הכל, ויכון בכתיבתו ביו"ד ה"א שהיה והוה ויהיה, ובהזכירו אלהים יכון שהוא תקיף בעל היכלת ובעל הכחות כלם. |
