CUDLIP. (Lieutenant, 1840.)

Frederick Augustus Cudlip was born in April, 1809.

This officer entered the Navy 14 Feb. 1824; passed his examination in 1830; obtained his commission 3 July, 1840; and then joined the Fairy surveying vessel, Capt. Wm. Hewett. He has been serving, since 22 March, 1841, in the Shearwater and Blazer, steam and surveying vessels, both commanded by Capt. John Washington, on the Home station. Agents – Messrs. Stilwell.
