Permanent Committee on Geographical Names
The Permanent Committee on Geographical Names (PCGN)[1] is an independent government agency in the United Kingdom. Its function is to establish standard names for places outside the UK, but not including Antarctica.[2] The decisions about names are for the use of the British government.
History
Permanent Committee on Geographical Names was established in 1919.[3]
