La Plata, Maryland
La Plata is a town in Charles County, Maryland, United States. In 2020, 10,159 people lived there.[1] It is the county seat of Charles County[2] and home of the Charles County Courthouse.

La Plata was hit by two tornadoes, one in November 1926 that killed 13 people at La Plata Elementary School, and another in April 2002.
