Jimmy McIlroy

James McIlroy MBE (25 October 1931 – 20 August 2018) was a Northern Irish footballer. He was born in Lambeg, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He made his international debut in 1951.

McIlroy played for Glentoran, Burnley, Stoke City and Oldham Athletic. He was thought of as one of the Burnley Football Club's greatest players. He played 497 matches and scoring 131 goals.[1][2] He managed Oldham Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.

McIlroy died on 20 August 2018 at the age of 86.[3]
