"Holding Back the Years" is a song performed by English band Simply Red and is the third single from their debut studio album Picture Book (1985). It went to number 1 in the United States and number 2 in the United Kingdom. It received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Performance in 1987. It was covered by Another Level in 1999.
