Hitachi, Ibaraki

Hitachi (日立市, Hitachi-shi) is Japanese port city on the Pacific coast of Ibaraki Prefecture on the island of Honshu.

History

Hitachi became a city in the year 1939.

Industry

In 1910, Namihei Odaira established a machine repair shop in the city. The business grew into the international company which is named after the city -- Hitachi.[1]
