Fussballclub St. Gallen 1879 is a Swiss professional football club from the city of St. Gallen. The team plays in the Swiss Super League. FC St. Gallen play their home games at the Kybunpark.

History

The club was founded on 19 April 1879. It is the oldest club still in existence in Swiss football. The team has little success in comparison to other clubs. They won the Swiss championship twice (1904 and 2000) and the Cup once (1969). Mostly they were in the middle of the table. In the 21st century St. Gallen was relegeted twice (2008 and 2011). In 2016 FC St. Gallen became a member of the exclusive Club of Pioneers[1] as the oldest football club of Switzerland.
