Eduard Kanhäuser

Eduard Kanhäuser, also known as Edi (born 18 September 1901-missing in action 22 May 1944[1]) was an Austrian international footballer.[2] Kanhäuser played as a goalkeeper for Wiener Sport-Club.[3] His brother was fellow player Karl Kanhäuser.[2] He may have died during the Second World War.

Career

From 1917 to 1928 he played as a goalkeeper for Wiener Sport-Club. Together with his brothers Karl and Johann he played in the team which won the first championship for the club in 1922. From 1931 till 1933 he was manager of Sport-Club.

International

Kanhäuser played 9 matches for the Austrian national football team. He debuted on 30 April 1922 in a 2-2 versus Hungary. His last match was a 2-0 loss versus Switzerland. [4]

World War II and death

Kanhauser died on 22 May 1944 aged 42 as German soldier in Italy in the Second world war.
