Area code 913 is an area code for northeastern Kansas. It covers the Kansas City area. It was made as one of the original area codes in 1947. It initially covered the northern portion of the states, but after it was split by 785 in 1997, it now covers the northern rightmost side of the state, consisting of cities such as Kansas City, Overland Park, and Shawnee.
