Amite County, Mississippi

Amite County is a county in the U.S. state of Mississippi on the southern border with Louisiana. As of the 2020 census, 12,720 people lived there.[1] Its county seat is Liberty.[2] The county is named after the Amite River which runs through the county. It was founded in 1809.
