A1 autoroute
The A1 is an autoroute (motorway) in France. It is the busiest autoroute in Europe.[1] Over 180,000 vehicles use it every day, including over 63,000 lorries.[1] It connects Paris and Lille. It also passes next to Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport. The autoroute is 211 kilometres (131 mi) long. It is the main road linking Paris to Belgium and the Netherlands. The A26 autoroute joins the A1 autoroute near Arras. This also makes the A1 a link to Calais and England.[2]
