Zawada [zaˈvada] (German Zowade, 1936-45: Lichten in Oberschlesien), is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Głogówek, within Prudnik County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the Czech border.[1] It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) north-west of Głogówek, 20 km (12 mi) north-east of Prudnik, and 31 km (19 mi) south of the regional capital Opole. Historically located in Upper Silesia, in the Prudnik Land.
