Trevor Leighton (born 1957) is a Carlisle-born photographer.[1] Leighton has one of the largest collections of archive photographs by a single photographer in the National Portrait Gallery, London.[2][3]

Leighton specialises in celebrity portraiture, fashion and pop videos.[4] Leighton was described by British Comedy Guide describe as a "legendary comedy photographer."[5] His clients have included Kate Bush,[6] Dawn French,[7] John Hurt,[8] Bob Monkhouse,[7] Lisa Snowden[9] and Kareena Kapoor.[10] He has also photographed for The Fairtrade Foundation, including portraits of Vic Reeves,[11] Amanda Burton, Fearne Cotton,[12] Richard Wilson,[12] Harry Hill.[12][13]

Leighton authored a book called "The Jokers," published in 1999 by Pavilion Books.[14] The Jokers is a coffee-table book featuring portraits of television, radio and stage comedians.[15] Photographs from this book were also featured in a National Portrait Gallery touring exhibition entitled "Comedians: From the 1940s to Now."[16]

His portrait of Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, the stars of Absolutely Fabulous, was included in the British 'faces of the century' National Portrait Gallery exhibition in 1999.[17]
