Production
In February 2023, it was announced that The Traitors had been renewed for a second series following the success of the first.[2][3] Claudia Winkleman was confirmed as the host.[4][5]
The series would also see the debut of a spin-off show The Traitors: Uncloaked, which will include interviews with banished and murdered contestants, as well as bonus unseen footage where the contestants learn the identity of the Traitors for the very first time.[6][7]
The first teaser trailer for the series aired in October 2023;[8] further trailers promoting the series were released by the BBC in the lead up to the series premiere.[9][10]
Ahead of the release of series 2, the BBC announced they'd given the green light for a third series.[11]
Contestants
The 22 contestants competing in the second series of The Traitors were revealed at midnight on 2 January 2024, the day before the show's premiere.[12] A pre-existing relationship was featured amongst the contestants in Diane and Ross Carson, who are mother and son.[13]
