The Dutchman is an upcoming American thriller film directed by Andre Gaines, co-writing along with Qasim Basir, based on the 1964 play of the same name by Amiri Baraka. The film stars André Holland, Kate Mara, Zazie Beetz, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Aldis Hodge, and Lauren E. Banks.[1]

As of September 2023, Andre Gaines is set to direct, write, and produce the adaption of 1964 play of the same name by Amiri Baraka. The film is secured by SAG-AFTRA to start filming with an interim agreement during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. André Holland, Kate Mara, Zazie Beetz, and Stephen McKinley Henderson had been cast in the film, which filming begins following the same month.[2] Aldis Hodge and Lauren E. Banks were both added to the film a month later.[3]
