Robert Sadowski (16 August 1914 – 2000) [1] was a Romanian international footballer with Polish roots, who played for AMEF Arad, Juventus București, Rapid București, Ciocanul București and abroad for AS Monaco.[2] He earned 5 caps for Romania, and participated at the 1938 FIFA World Cup in a match against Cuba.

International career

His first cap was on 6 September 1937 against Yugoslavia.

He was selected for the 1938 FIFA World Cup[3] His second cap was the replay against Cuba on 9 June 1938. It was his only game in the tournament, as his teammate Dumitru Pavlovici had played the first match against Cuba and Romania was knocked out 2-1 by Cuba on replay.

He was selected three other times: against Slovakia on 12 October 1941, Poland on 26 October 1947 and Albania on 2 May 1948.

Death

He died on 2000 aged 86.[4] Along with Vintila Cossini, he was one of the last two survivors of the 1938 FIFA World Cup Romania side.
