- 1915 – The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway enters receivership with J. M. Dickinson and H. U. Mudge appointed as receivers.[1]
- 1966 – The second segment, between Predeal and Câmpina, of Căile Ferate Române's (in Romania) electrification is completed.
21st century
- 2005 – UTA TRAX, in Salt Lake City, Utah, begins construction of its 900 South Station, the railroad's first new station in six years; this is the first station for the railroad that is to be built in a mainly residential area.
