Pokola is a town and a commune[1] located in the northern Republic of Congo in the Sangha Department.

It lays along the Sangha river and is connected to Ouésso, 40 km further northwest, by a pist and a ferry. The road should be paved and a bridge built in the future[2] to improve links between Sangha Department and Likouala Department and so improve access to the Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The town is the headquarters of one of the largest logging companies in the country, the Congolaise Industrielle des Bois (CIB), a subsidiary of a Singapore group. This compagny is so important for the town that most of the equipments were built by it: the best clinic in the area, schools, marketplaces and shops, most of the buildings and of the roads. The compagny even manages water, electricity and fuels.[3]
