Critical reception
Dele Fadele from NME wrote, "'Newborn Friend' visits Phil Collins' Spanish villa, with all manner of studio trickery by Trevor Horn. That is: a complex bundle of nothingness that is unlikely to gain airplay even on Virgin FM."[1]
