Montchanin (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃ʃanɛ̃]) is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France.

The town finds its history during the Industrial Revolution in France in the 19th century, being famous for its terracotta tiles [2] and for its coal mines being active between 1820 and 1912. [3]
