At the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, a single modern pentathlon event was contested.[1]
The 1928 modern pentathlon was notable in the sport's Olympic history as it marked the first time in four editions of the competition that a non-Swedish competitor won a medal. Swedish athletes had taken all three medals in 1912, 1920, and 1924.
