Lawrence Jones Cross Country (also known as "Cross Country") was an American television program that aired on Fox News Channel and was hosted by Libertarian Political Commentator Lawrence Jones. The program aired every Saturday at 9 p.m. ET live from Fox News' world headquarters in New York City.[1][2]

The program ended its run on September 9, 2023.[3]

Host

  • Lawrence B. Jones, (2022–2023): Jones, who has been with Fox News since 2018, rose to prominence from his "Man on The Street" interviews on Hannity which focused on various issues affecting local communities and other current events happening. He was later named enterprise reporter for Fox's flagship morning show program Fox & Friends in 2021 where he continues to provide his signature reporting in addition to hosting Cross Country. Jones also appears as a guest host on various FNC programs including Fox & Friends, Outnumbered, The Five , and more. [4]

Format

The show starts with Jones introducing himself and presenting a short monologue about the day’s news. He then brings in various different guests to discuss.

Another prominent feature on the show was Jones' in-depth reporting. He has reported on the scenes of the 2022 University of Idaho killings in Moscow, Idaho, the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas as well as Miami, Florida to cover the annual "Spring Breaker" chaos.[5][6][7]

Jones interviewed Joe Exotic in March 2023.[8]

Programming announcements and changes

Fox News announced that Jones would be named host of a new weekend program alongside Brian Kilmeade in early January 2022 following the ending of weekend programs Watters World and Justice with Judge Jeanine. In making that announcement Fox announced the debut of One Nation with Brian Kilmeade at 8 p.m. ET and the debut of Cross Country at 10 p.m. ET with Dan Bongino helming the 9 p.m. ET hour with Unfiltered w/Dan Bongino which originally premiered in June 2021.[9]

In April 2023, Fox News announced that they had parted ways with Bongino and would be ending his weekend program,[10] as a result Cross Country was moved to the 9 p.m. hour as a temporary replacement. In late May 2023, Fox announced a new weekend lineup with Jones being the permanent host at 9 p.m.[11]

On September 14, 2023, Fox News announced that Jones had been named permanent co-host of the weekday edition of Fox & Friends which saw the cancellation of Lawrence Jones Cross Country and One Nation with Brian Kilmeade move to the 9 p.m. slot.[12]
