Hammond Township is one of nine townships in Spencer County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,727 and it contained 725 housing units.[3] Hammond Township contains the city of Grandview.

History

The Hammond family settled in Hammond Township in about 1814.[4]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 42.1 square miles (109 km2), of which 40.92 square miles (106.0 km2) (or 97.20%) is land and 1.17 square miles (3.0 km2) (or 2.78%) is water.[3]
