Domen & Van de Velde is the name of the Belgian photographers-duo Giel Domen and Kenneth Van de Velde. Known for their artistic direction and conceptual photographs, their work is featured in magazines internationally like Vogue.^[1][2][3] Working together since 2010 the duo has also done exhibitions and independent artwork.^[4] The duo is based in Los Angeles but travel all around the world to work for different brands and magazines.^[5]

Career

Domen formerly worked as a model and walked shows for several international brands, after gaining interest in the fashion industry as a young boy, he started photographing friends in conceptual stories and soon became quite known for this.^[6]

He met Van de Velde on an international fashion event, due to their personal interest in each other they became a team since 2010. Domen is known for the art direction within Domen & Van de Velde, Van de Velde mostly focusses on the technical details.^[6]

In 2020 the duo created the campaign to support Beauty for a Better World, the non-profit organisation that developed Designers Against aids.^[7]

At the moment they are working for international magazines such as Vogue Arabia, Vogue Portugal,Vogue México y Latinoamérica, Vogue Ukraine, V (American magazine), Vman and Numéro^{[8][9][10][11]}

Domen and Van de Velde have also worked with celebrities including Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton, Willow Smith, Kim Petras, Emma Chamberlain.^{[12][13][14][15][16]}

They create images for Dior, Dior Beauty and Dolce & Gabbana where they made portraits of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana as well as Lady Gaga's beauty brand Haus Labs and are a big part of the relaunch after the company partnered with Sephora as its retail outlet.^[17][18]
