The Central District of Kahnuj County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان کهنوج) is in Kerman province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Kahnuj.

At the National Census in 2006, its population was 70,664 in 15,029 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 75,064 people in 18,413 households,[4] by which time Howmeh Rural District had been separated from the district in the establishment of Chah Morid District.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 84,603 inhabitants in 23,207 households.[2]

After the 2016 census, the villages of Chah Morid and Deh Kahan were elevated to city status.[6]
