Archana Ravichandran (born 11 November 1997) formerly known by her stage name VJ Archana is an Indian television personality and television actress who predominantly appears in Tamil television shows and serials.[2] She appeared in the Raja Rani 2 serial, in the role Archana.[3] She was also featured in Morattu Single season 2, Comedy Raja Kalakkal Rani (2021), and several other TV shows.[4]

She also was in the reality show Bigg Boss 7 and later emerged as the winner with most number of votes, therefore by she was the first female wild card contestant to lifts the trophy.[5][6][7][8]

Career

Debut and breakthrough (2020–2023)

Archana started her career as a video jockey on Sun TV. She has appeared in some television programs on Sun Tv during her early stages in her career. She made her television debut in the serial Raja Rani 2 along with Alya Manasa.[9] In the serial, she plays the character role of Archana.[10]

She also appeared in the show Murattu Singles which aired on Star Vijay.

Archana debuted in the film Demonte Colony 2 as a film actress and is currently undergoing filming and post production work alongside actor Arulnithi.[11][12]

Bigg Boss 7 and beyond (2023-present)

She won the Indian reality Bigg Boss Season 7, which started in October 2023.[13][14] She is also the first wildcard contestant to win the show & peoples heart with most number of votes in a main series in the whole Bigg Boss franchise in India.[15] Archana broken voting records suppressing Oviya voting bank in 2017 and created a massive record in the Bigg Boss Tamil, In Bigg Boss (Tamil season 4) Aari Arujunan got highest number of votes in Bigg Boss Tamil history.In Bigg Boss (Tamil season 7) she broken that record by getting the highest number of votes than that and set a new milestone in Bigg Boss Tamil franchise.[16]

Personal life

In 2022, news has been circulated on social media stating that Archana was committed in a movie.

In 2023, Archana officially changed her name from VJ Archana to Archana Ravichandran which is her birthname, she posted her new name on social media stating, " As I continue to grow and evolve in my career, it’s important to me that my name reflects my true identity and heritage."[17][18]
