Abu Ghoveyr (Persian: ابوغوير, also Romanized as Abū Ghoveyr and Abūghovīr; also known as Abū Ghūyer, Abu Qoveyr, and Abū Qūyer)[3] is a village in Abu Ghoveyr Rural District of Dasht-e Abbas District, Dehloran County, Ilam province, Iran. The village is populated by Arabs.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 340 in 56 households, when it was in Musian District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 313 people in 72 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 320 people in 67 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.[2]

In March 2017, Abu Ghoveyr and Dasht-e Abbas Rural Districts were transferred from Musian District to establish Dasht-e Abbas District.[7]
