On 30 April 2023, a mass shooting in Setúbal, Portugal left four people dead including the perpetrator, a 66-year-old male, who committed suicide when authorities arrived.[1][2]

A definitive motive is not known but the shooting is reported to have happened among rival pigeon racers and regards the breeding of pigeons actively involved. It also involved an illegal vegetable garden.[3][2]
