Inherited from Ottoman Turkish ذره قدر (zerre ḳadar),[1][2] from ذره (zerre),[3] equivalent to zerre (a tiny particle, iota) + kadar (as much as). Cognates with Azerbaijani zərrə qədər, Turkmen zerre gadar, Uzbek zarra qadar.
